What Füm is
You draw air through a wooden barrel and a flavoured core inside gives the taste. Füm's site describes it as having "zero nicotine, vapor or batteries". The Prominent has a maple barrel and a stainless steel mouthpiece, with a small clean kit and a habit tracker. The Solano is the dearer one, in walnut and black onyx.
What it costs in NZ dollars
| At Matakana Pharmacy, 3 November 2026 | Price |
|---|---|
| Prominent device | $114.99 |
| Solano device | $139.99 |
| Cores, three-pack | $19.12 to $23.99, most $22.50 |
| Silicone toppers, three-pack | $24.99 |
Füm says three cores give "10+ days of peak flavor", so at $22.50 a pack that's roughly $2 a day, or $60 to $70 a month.
Where to buy it and how long it takes
Matakana Pharmacy offers free tracked shipping on non-rural orders over $75, with $6 extra for rural delivery, and says processing shouldn't take more than five working days.
Füm's own store priced the Prominent in Australian dollars when we checked. Its policy says orders are processed in 1 to 3 business days, with an estimated delivery time given at checkout. Returns have to be started within 30 days of delivery, sealed and unused, and you pay the return shipping.
What buyers say
On Trustpilot Füm scores 3.3 out of 5 from 784 reviews, with 51% giving five stars and 35% giving one star. Trustpilot's summary says people often find it helps keep their hands busy and helps them cut down, and like the design and flavours. The complaints it picks out are the cost of the device and cores, durability, customer support, and some flavours tasting chemical or too weak.
Does Füm work?
Füm's science page sets out its testing and the research it draws on, so you can read that for yourself. Whichever device you go for, what it gives you is something to reach for when the vape would normally come out. If you were on a strong vape, your pharmacist or Quitline (free on 0800 778 778, or text 4006) can help with patches, gum or lozenges as well.
See Inhalace, Airquit, Füm and Shosha side by side on our quit-vaping devices compared page.
